In the quest for a better body, many people want to build muscle and burn fat. The fact of the matter is, it is difficult to do both of these things at the same time.
That doesn't mean, however, that it is not possible. If you're just starting out and are totally out of shape that it is going to be
much easier for you to build muscle while you're losing the fat than if you have been exercising for quite some time. The way that it is
done is quite simple. You need to have the proper combination of exercise and diet.
You may be thinking to yourself, I thought that if I put on muscle mass that I would not need to diet at all. Well, you may be right but
if you just take a little bit of time to adjust your diet, you will see much better results in a shorter period of time. It is true that
exercising, especially weight training will build your body in such a way that it will burn additional calories, even while it is resting.
If you are eating close to your calorie needs on a daily basis, putting on a little bit of muscle may push it to a deficit.
A better way for you to be able to do it is to feed your muscles with the proper types of food and to do so on a regular basis. You
should be eating at least five to six small meals every day that consist of one serving of protein in one serving of carbohydrates. You
should also be paying attention to the amount of fat that you take in your system. Your body does need some fat but you should be careful
not to take in the dangerous types of fat that will simply stick to your ribs.
The type of weight training that you do is also important. If you want to pack on a lot of muscle, you should be lifting heavy weights
with low repetitions. If you want to tone up the muscle that you have and gained strength, you should be working out with lower weights and
higher repetitions. Cardiovascular exercise is also important if you want to be burning fat from your body. If you do it the wrong
way, however, it may be counterproductive to all of the weight training that you are doing.
HIIT, or high-intensity interval training is the perfect cardiovascular exercise for those that are trying to build muscle and burn fat at the
same time. The concept behind it is rather simple. You can do any type of exercise that you want but you should do it all out for one
period of time, such as one minute, and then rest for two periods of time. Studies have shown that this helps you to keep the muscle that
you have and burns fat nine times faster than regular, slow-paced cardiovascular exercise. Another popular method is detailed in the top selling
system Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle. This is a system written by a body builder, should definitly be considered by anyone wanting to
change their body shape. Take a look at it here.
